Analog Clock Practice for Adults
Adult learners
Growing up in a digital world means many adults never fully internalized how to read an analog clock quickly. There is no shame in that — it is simply a skill that needs practice. This game presents real analog clock faces and measures your response time. Most adults master it in one short session.
Teaching Tips & Strategies
- →The SHORT hand is the hour hand. The LONG hand is the minute hand. If you remember nothing else, remember this.
- →The minute hand: count the large markers clockwise from 12, multiplying by 5.
- →The small marks between the large ones each count as 1 minute.
- →Aim for under 5 seconds per clock before moving to exact-minute practice.
Curriculum Alignment
- • Identify hour vs minute hand
- • Read any time on a 12-hour analog clock
- • Convert between analog and digital formats
